Intro and work
I started my career in Chicago as a book editor for a small educational publisher, then moved into agency work, where I wore several hats over the years as writer, account manager, and creative director. From there, I spent time as a production and creative director in the AEC industry, producing architectural and engineering trade magazines and art directing the flagship publication, Civil Engineering News. After a stretch of consulting while my kids were young, I returned full-time to the client side, writing B2B content marketing and thought leadership. More recently, I've taken on strategic roles in both B2B and B2C content and brand marketing—most of it in healthcare, where the stakes of clear, human storytelling tend to be highest.

I'm a writer, content strategist, and creative leader with two decades of experience turning complex ideas into clear, human stories that travel—across channels, audiences, and now, increasingly, across AI-mediated surfaces. My work sits at the intersection of editorial craft and modern discovery strategy: shaping integrated campaigns, executive thought leadership, and brand narratives that hold up whether they're being read by a CMO, surfaced in a generative search result, or cited by an answer engine. I've led editorial teams, managed writers and art directors, and partnered with senior leaders to build messaging frameworks rooted in audience insight and data. I'm becoming as fluent in SEO, GEO, and AEO as I am in old-fashioned storytelling—and I believe the rise of AI makes the human side of the craft more valuable, not less. The brands that win the next decade will be the ones that remember a story, and the human connection that comes along with it, is still the most efficient piece of technology we have.
